Microbic Sans. Type Design.
Objective
To design a brand new display typeface that could be used in a wide arrange of projects with special focus on textbooks, kids booklets, science webpages and science videos.
Process
For the creation of the typeface I looked for inspiration in the smallest organism of the science world and by looking at microbiology textbooks and videos I abstracted organic graphic elements that reflected these. I had to figure out a way to make the letter shapes look organic and “microbial” without losing legibility. I decided to use the inner elements to further differentiate the letterforms by making custom shapes to every letter while also trying to maintain cohesiveness all-around the design.

Cush. Branding
Objective
To develop a brand for a new and upcoming lounge-wear company. The brand should represent the comfort of their pieces plus a young and hip attitude.
Process
For the creation of this brand I decided to focus on highlighting the softness of the brand throughout the whole branding. The graphic element of a cloud represents the softness of the material; the cursive font represents the friendliness and approachability of the brand, and the blue tones are meant to inspire a feeling of ease and relaxation.

Oracle brewing co. Branding
Objective
To develop a brand for a local craft brewery based on London, Ontario. Owned by a couple of psychotherapists who during the pandemic decided to create a craft beer inspired by their study on the impact of divination practices on mental health.
Process
The logo Design was inspired by the crystal ball as a recognized fortune telling related element, and it represents flow and energy by its continuous line.
The cards which meaning was more compatible with each beer profile where chosen to draw inspiration from.
For the Label Design I focused on the main characteristics of selected “major arcana” cards.
The colors simulate glow and are created with a monochrome palette devised to draw the consumer eye into the illustration and information, even from distance.

Smoke & Bones BBQ. Packaging
Objective
To develop an illustrative style label and box for a new flavored BBQ sauce. The client also wanted a take-out box designed for their sponsored deals with local restaurants.
Process
To bring forth the flavors of the sauce I illustrated the main ingredients of the sauce on the label as the primary graphic elements of the design, and chose a color palette taken from the real-life colors of the ingredients.
The design of the take-out box features an illustration related to the kind of food it will contain, and a pattern displaying the main ingredients of the sauce.

Ground Hound. Event Branding
Objective
To develop a consistent brand package for a museum event for mineral enthusiasts.
Process
For the creation of this design I got inspired by ammonites as the most widespread and easily recognized fossil. Earthy colors were chosen for this design, as reference to the ground and grit that rock collectors, geologist and paleontologist go through. The colors are inspired by vintage prints and old books and used to signify exploration and discovery.
